Indore: Indore Development Authority (IDA) will propose a budget of approximately Rs 900 crore for 2026-27 financial year during its board meeting scheduled next week, the highlight of which would be inclusion of proposal to construct Startup Park and a state-of-the-art Convention Centre near Super Corridor under public-private partnership with each estimated to cost over Rs 1,000 crore.
Officials said the focus of budget would be on realistic project execution and long-pending infrastructure development.
A major portion of the budget is likely to be earmarked for 9-km MR-12 road, a vital artery linking Bypass to Ujjain Road in view of Simhastha 2028. While 50% of the work is done, the remaining half involves construction of Railway Over Bridge and a bridge.
Additionally, District Road Safety Committee is expected to task IDA with constructing several new bridges and flyovers to decongest critical city junctions.
For convenience of the residents, the budget is expected to allocate funds to move all authority services online, allowing people to access permits and documents anywhere and anytime. Significant allocations are also expected for road construction and electrification, underground utility services, along with horticulture and green belt development.
"The focus is on completing ongoing schemes while initiating landmark projects that will define Indore's future economy," IDA CEO Parikshit Zade said.
