IAAD’s Snehit wins doubles title, reaches in singles SF in All India TT meet
Indore: F R Snehit of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IAAD) won the men's doubles title and reached the men's singles semifinals on Monday as the 52nd All India Inter-Institution Table Tennis Championships entered its decisive phase in Indore.Snehit, representing IAAD, paired with Abhimanyu Mitra to beat Bengal's Ankur Bhattacharjee and Shankhadeep Das 11-6, 11-7, 4-11, 9-11, 11-9 in the men's doubles final at Abhay Prashal, holding on in the deciding game.
Organised by the Airports Authority of India, the championship was set to conclude on Tuesday, with participants from 12 govt departments and PSUs.In the men's singles, Snehit reached the semifinals with a straight-game win over Delhi's Sudhanshu Grover. He was joined in the last four by PSPB's Manav Thakkar and Harmeet Desai, and RBI's Manush Shah.Thakkar won his quarter-final against Ronit Bhanja. PSPB team-mate Desai beat Jash Modi in four games. Shah completed the semi-final line-up with a tight straight-game victory.In women's doubles, Railway Sports Promotion Board's Kousani Nath and Sampada Bhiwandkar won the title after defeating team-mates Sutirtha Mukherjee and Anusha Kutumbale in four games.The women's singles semifinals featured PSPB paddlers Sindrela Das, Swastika Ghosh and Sayali Wani, along with RSPB's Sutirtha Mukherjee.The singles semifinals were scheduled later on Tuesday.
