Indore: A 21-year-old listed history-sheeter, Harsh alias Katora, died in a road accident in Dhar district late Saturday night after his motorcycle rammed into a tree on the Kod-Bidwal road under Badnawar tehsil. His body was found in bushes along the roadside on Sunday morning and was later handed over to family members after the post-mortem. Police recorded the death and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
Harsh, a resident of the Pipli Chowki area in Ratlam, stayed with his maternal uncle in Bidwal village of Dhar district for some time. According to police, he left Bidwal on his motorcycle on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, reportedly heading towards Ratlam. Near a turn on the Kod-Bidwal stretch, he was believed to lose control of the vehicle, which veered off and crashed into a tree. The impact was severe, leaving the motorcycle completely damaged.

The body remained at the spot through the night. On Sunday morning, passers-by noticed the wrecked motorcycle by the roadside and, upon checking the nearby bushes, found Harsh lying dead. They immediately alerted local police.
A team reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Family members also reached after being informed.
Following the completion of post-mortem formalities on Sunday afternoon, the body was handed over to the family, who took it to their ancestral village, Depalpur, in Indore district for last rites.
Police records show that Harsh was a listed history-sheeter at Station Road police station in Ratlam. More than 15 criminal cases were registered against him at different police stations. These included 2 cases of attempt to murder, 4 cases related to illegal extortion, 1 case under the SC/ST Act, and over 9 cases of assault and other offences involving public disturbance.
Police said further investigation into the accident was under way.
