INDORE: Lokayukta cops caught the secretary of gram panchayat Rampuria Khurd Manpur red-handed when he was allegedly taking bribe of Rs 7,000 on Friday.
Sources in Loakyukta said accused Anil Chaudhary was demanding bribe for releasing fund under Indira Awas Yojana.
"Seven persons, including Nanuram, all residents of Rampuria were allotted fund of Rs 45,000 each for construction of house under Indira Awas Yojana.
The fund was transferred to gram panchayat and when all the beneficiaries approached the local body to get their money, accused demanded Rs 1,000 as bribe from each of the beneficiaries," said the sources.
Nanuram complaint against secretary Anil Chaudhary with Lokayukta on which anti-corruption ombudsman set a trap. Finally, Chaudhary was caught red-handed while taking the bribe. Lokayukta has booked Chaudhary under sections 7, 13(1)D and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
