Indore

, get financial assistance from Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday.

Rahul Raj Mehra

had sustained nearly 30 per cent burns when fire broke out in Rudraksh Apartment after three persons set afire two-wheelers in the parking lot in early hours of September 5.

Patidar had claimed that his friends hailed from financially weaker family and needed assistance to meet the daily medical expenses to the tune of Rs 48,000.

Kamal Nath took cognizance of the situation and sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the girl and Rs 80,000 to the boy.

Patidar later told TOI that he was extremely thankful to the chief minster to extend the

financial help

. “We have been trying to raise money for them. The state government’s assistance will go a long way in helping them,” he said.

Ankita and Rahul hail from Pipariya town of Hoshangabad district. They are pursuing graduation courses in Gujarati College and Holkar Science College, respectively, Patidar said.

The duo were sleeping in their apartment when the building went up in flames and panic ensued. A day after the fire, police had arrested three persons on basis of CCTV footage from the locality, for arson in setting afire two-wheelers parked in the basement.
