Indore: A day after two siblings --- 13-year-old girl and her 19-year-old brother— were rescued from being illegally married in Rangwasa village, district administration has said that an FIR would be registered after education department verified that marksheets provided by family to prove that the minors were adults were found forged.
"Verification by the education department confirmed the fraud. An FIR will be lodged for forgery of official documents," Zila Panchayat CEO Siddhartha Jain said.
While the siblings were rescued, the administration also scrutinized the wedding service providers.
WCD district programme officer Rajnish Sinha said that the printer who printed the wedding invitation cards has apologized for failing to verify age of the bride and groom. Since the marriage was stopped, no case was currently being pursued against the printer or other service providers.
