FIR lodged against 21 more persons

Indore: District administration on Saturday lodged a second FIR in treasury bill scam against 21 persons for their alleged involvement in the crime.
With this, the number of accused in the scam has increased to 50. Three government employees and 26 others had been booked earlier for the scam.
“The ongoing investigation in the treasury bill scam has revealed involvement of 21 more people. An FIR has already been registered under section 420, 467, 468, 409 and 120B of IPC against 29 people at Raoji Bazar police station while administration on Saturday lodged a fresh FIR under similar sections against 21 more people for their involvement in the crime,” ADM Rajesh Rathod said.
“Initially, the scam was of about Rs 5.68 crore, but examination of some of the suspected bank accounts has now increased the fraud amount to more than Rs 8 crore,” he said, adding that the administration has so far managed to recover Rs 1.18 crore from the accused.
