Indore: An explosion in a power transformer near Telephone Exchange in Neemuch on Monday night led to a total blackout in Revenue Colony area. The incident occurred near Mishra Hotel, causing panic among local residents and commuters.Witnesses reported hearing crackling sounds followed by smoke rising from the transformer. Within seconds, a loud blast occurred, and the unit was engulfed in flames. Sparks from the explosion flew across the road but no damage or injuries were reported.As the fire intensified, the electricity department disconnected the feeder line for safety. Officials from the power distribution company arrived at the site to assess the damage. Technicians worked through the night to replace the burnt components and repair the faults. Power supply to the affected areas was restored late at night.Electricity department officials stated that the explosion was likely caused by a combination of high ambient temperatures and an increasing electrical load on the transformer.
