INDORE: Crime branch have seized around 60 duplicate cell phones of
Samsung company and its accessories worth Rs 7 lakh from shops on Jail road here recently.
Talking to TOI, Superintendent of Police (SP), head quarter, Dr Ashis said police raided Bhau Collection, China Town, Bhatia Collection, VIP, Bombay Collection and Sunny Collection shops on the jail road and seized 60 duplicate cell phone of Samsung Company and its accessories worth Rs 7.18 lakh.
Six shop keepers Mukutlal, resident of Jabaran Colony, Ashok Chauhan, resident of Shrikrishna Colony, Vasudev, resident of Khatiwala Tank, Yogesh and Muneel, both residents of Rajmahal Colony and Nikhil Jadhav, resident of Janta Colony have been arrested.
All the shopkeepers were later handed over to MIG police for further action, Dr Ashis said. Earlier, authorised dealers of Samsung met the SP and lodged a complaint against the sale of duplicate cell phones of their company on Wednesday. “They said some shopkeepers on Jail road are openly selling the cell phones of their company,” said Dr Ashis adding that it was a serious matter and therefore the police took immediate cognizance. Subsequent to the complaint, Dr Ashis directed the crime branch police to look into the issue which led to the raid.
