DAVV withholds B Com results as 44 colleges fail to submit internal marks
Indore: Over 15,000 B Com students at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya are facing uncertainty after the university withheld third year results due to non-submission of internal marks by affiliated colleges.Officials said that 44 colleges are yet to submit the required marks, delaying the result of more than 15,000 students. The university had directed all colleges to upload internal assessment marks by April 10, soon after the examinations concluded. Despite completion of the evaluation process, the absence of internal scores has stalled result compilation at the IT centre.Since final results are prepared by combining theory and internal marks, the pending data has brought the process to a halt, affecting students across more than 100 colleges.According to officials, over 8,000 students' internal marks are still unavailable. As a result, even colleges that met the deadline are now facing delays, leading to concern among students awaiting their final year results, especially with postgraduate admission schedules approaching. The university has decided to issue notices to the defaulting colleges, seeking explanations for the lapse. Authorities are also considering a penalty of Rs 1,000 per student if satisfactory reasons are not provided.
Action may follow against institutions that fail to justify the delay.Controller of Examinations, Ashesh Tiwari, said that the university was making efforts to release the results at the earliest. "More than 40 colleges have not submitted internal marks. They have been instructed to send them immediately. We are trying to ensure results are declared soon, and such negligence will not be tolerated in future," he said. The university aims to declare results before May 15, when postgraduate admissions are scheduled to begin. If the pending data is received within the next couple of days, officials indicated that results could be announced by the weekend or early next week.
