DAVV to set up homoeopathy research centre, initiates MoU process
Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya has formally written to Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy for establishing a Central Homoeopathy Research Centre on its campus and has initiated process for a Memorandum of Understanding. The centre will be developed at university's Takshashila campus on Khandwa Road, where six rooms have been earmarked for its operations. University authorities have confirmed that along with infrastructure, necessary staff and support services will also be provided to ensure smooth functioning.Officials said that the initiative will not only strengthen academic exposure of students interested in alternative medicine but also allow them to observe and engage with real-time diagnosis and treatment practices. The centre is expected to offer facilities for research, consultation and therapy, making it a practical learning space within the campus.Members of the university's executive council indicated that the project, which received approval nearly one-and-a-half years ago, was delayed due to the lack of a designated building. With space now finalised, the process is expected to move swiftly. The formal agreement between the two institutions is likely to be signed soon, and the centre may become operational within the next three months.
Apart from benefiting students, the centre is also expected to serve patients from Indore and nearby districts such as Khandwa, Dhar, Barwani, Burhanpur and Ratlam. Plans are in place to develop facilities for research and treatment of complex conditions, including sickle cell anaemia.University Registrar Prafull Khare said that all necessary preparations have been completed and the institution is ready to extend full support. Authorities believe the centre will strengthen both academic and healthcare outreach while offering students valuable practical exposure within the university itself.
