DAVV reschedules UG, PG exams due to NEET & state service prelims

Indore: Several undergraduate and postgraduate examinations at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) have been rescheduled following a clash with the upcoming NEET UG 2026 and State Service Preliminary Examination 2026 conducted by Madhya Pradesh Service Commission. The revised timetable, uploaded on the university website, affects multiple papers across courses.Officials said the state and forest service preliminary examination scheduled for April 26 has led to the postponement of the BEd second semester paper earlier set for April 25. The exam will now be conducted on April 28. Similarly, in view of NEET-UG on May 3, the university has cancelled all UG second-year examinations slated for May 2 and May 4. No papers will be held on these dates.Exam controller Ashesh Tiwari said the decision follows district administration guidelines, which mandate that no examination be conducted a day before or after NEET-UG, considering the scale of the national test.The rescheduling is expected to impact nearly 55,000 students appearing in various UG examinations, while around 4,000 BEd students will benefit from the revised dates. Officials noted that nearly 80 percent of BEd candidates are also appearing for the State Service Preliminary Examination, making the adjustment necessary.DAVV has also begun declaring results for recently concluded UG third-year examinations. The bachelor of social work (BSW) result, released first, recorded a pass percentage of 45, with around 10 students absent. The university plans to release remaining results, including B Com, by April 30, followed by BA and BSc results by May 10.In a related reform, DAVV has introduced a review mechanism under which any result with a pass percentage below 40 will undergo scrutiny twice by a special committee before publication, aiming to improve academic outcomes and student confidence.
