Commercial tax dept raid at city based traders

INDORE: Anti-evasion wing of commercial tax department, Madhya Pradesh, concluded a raid at city-based 'supari' manufacturers here on Thursday.

Maxwell food product private limited and Palak enterprises have been raided by the department. On Thursday, Rs 21 lakhs have been recovered by the department from the business premises of two shops.

"A team of 25 officials carried out the operation. We are suspecting that for past one year the dealer have been hiding their transaction details from the department. The stock recovered at the business premises of these firms is less than their record books," said commercial tax commissioner Raghvendra Singh.
