Indore: Day temperature in the city has climbed back to summer levels, touching 35 degrees Celsius on Tuesday after dropping to 30.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The city has been witnessing a noticeable rise over the past two days. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.0 degrees Celsius, up from 33.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, indicating a steady upward trend. The minimum temperature stood at 17.4 degrees Celsius, remaining close to normal.By 5:30 pm, the temperature was measured at 33 degrees Celsius, reflecting sustained daytime heat. According to Met department, a gradual rise of two to three degrees is expected over the next two days, after which no major change is likely in the immediate outlook. The recent increase follows the clearing of cloud cover that persisted over the past few days. Residents have begun to feel the return of harsh afternoon heat.Met officials said wind patterns remained predominantly west to north-westerly, with speeds reaching up to 19 kmph. The broader weather pattern indicates that earlier fluctuations have subsided and conditions are returning to a more typical pre-summer phase.
Synoptic conditions show multiple systems in place, including upper air cyclonic circulations over central Pakistan and parts of Madhya Pradesh, along with a trough extending towards Maharashtra. A strong subtropical westerly jet stream continues over north India. Two western disturbances are also expected to affect northwest India from March 26 and again around March 28 night. "While direct impact of these systems on Madhya Pradesh may remain limited, day temperature is expected to rise further by three to five degrees in the coming days, intensifying heat across the region," said Met scientist Divya Surendran.
