Birla, Mahindra among top biz honchos to attend GIS

INDORE: Industry bigwigs Kumar Mangalam Birla (chairman,

), Anand Mahindra (chairman, Mahindra Group), Ajay Piramal (CEO, Shriram Group), Jaiprakash Gaur (founder,

Jaypee Group

) and many others have confirmed participation in Global CEO Conclave slated to be held on October 21- a day before Global Investors Summit-2016 starts.

State industry department has confirmed the participation of around 50 senior executives of various major corporates, who would be present at the exclusive dinner with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In the recent visit of state industry department officials to Mumbai, the government received confirmation from many industry tycoons.

"We are expecting around 80 executives to be a part of the conclave. It will give a platform to senior executives of big firms to interact with the state government. They will get the opportunity to learn more about the state," said

Bhopal would also host a session on small-scale industries on October 1 and 2. Apart from this, about 2,000 delegates are expected to participate in the two-day mega event commencing October 22. Official sources claimed that even honchos from Reliance Industries, Adani group are expected to participate.

"There are many on our list but based on the availability of the executives we are finalizing the names," said a senior industry department official. Apart from this, with focus on roping in as many foreign countries as possible, AKVN has been holding talks with many countries across the globe.

In the two-day summit, sessions on various sectors including textile, automobile, tourism, electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM), renewable energy etc will be held. GIS-2014 witnessed participation of 200 captains of industry, 6,000 business delegates and 500 foreign delegates from 32 countries across the globe.
