Of this, 79.28 lakh farmers are from Madhya Pradesh,” agriculture minister Kamal Patel told TOI, adding that remaining around 8 lakh farmers of the state eligible under the scheme will get the installment by Tuesday.“Technical or some other reasons caused a delay for the remaining around 8 lakh farmers to get 12th installment. The same is being fixed to deposit Rs 2,000 in accounts of all the beneficiaries by Tuesday,” he said.
Meanwhile, around 7 lakh out of total around 88 lakh beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh eligible have yet not completed e-KYC (electronic know your client).
As per the instructions, all the districts had urged eligible farmers to update their KYC using online or offline methods to receive the 12th instalment. The Aadhaar-based payment system was recently adopted under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and for this, the e-KYC of the beneficiary and linking of the farmer’s bank account with his Aadhaar card number was mandatory.
“The drive to approach and help farmers completing their e-KYC is still underway” the minister said, adding that however, the 12th installment of no eligible farmer was however stopped due to not completing e-KYC.According to the minister, Centre provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to farmers eligible under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The amount is deposited directly into bank accounts (now Aadhaar-linked) of beneficiaries in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. On this line, the Madhya Pradesh government has started providing financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to the eligible farmers in two installments of Rs 2,000 each. TNN
