61-year-old, aide arrested with two pistols & four live cartridges

Indore: Kanadia police arrested two habitual offenders, who were moving around in a white SUV with illegal firearms, on Tuesday. They recovered two country-made pistols and four live cartridges from them.Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Kanadia police station in charge Saharsh Yadav set up a trap at the bypass and intercepted the vehicle. The suspects were identified as 61-year-old Farukh Khan, a resident of Sagour in Dhar district and his associate 35-year-old Guddu Lal Gurjar, a resident of Jhalawar district in Rajasthan.On searching the vehicle, police recovered two country-made pistols and four live cartridges, which were seized. The accused were booked under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act at Kanadia police station.Police said Farukh is a habitual offender active in crime since 1991, with over 30 cases, including rioting, extortion, arson, and assault, registered against him in different police stations of Sagour, Pithampur, and nearby areas. His associate Guddu Lal is also a wanted criminal in Rajasthan, with more than six cases against him and a pending warrant. A reward of Rs 5000 was declared on him.
