19-year-old shot dead in Dewas over old enmity

Indore: A 19-year-old youth was shot dead and his friend injured late Thursday night in Bhawani Sagar area of Dewas.The victim, identified as Ladoo alias Shubham Nath, was at home having dinner around 1 am when he received a call from his friend, Gautam (23) that a group of men had stopped him and were picking a fight.Shubham rushed to the spot to control the situation but it took a violent turn as the accused pulled out a pistol and opened fire. Shubham was struck in the chest and died on the spot, while Gautam sustained a gunshot wound in his leg.According to Nahar Darwaza police station in-charge Amit Solanki, both parties had a history of disputes. Shubham ran a shop selling coconuts, offerings, and photographs near the Tekri area. His family alleged that the accused had been harassing him for money and had previously set his motorcycle on fire.The police registered a case against six persons ---Bali, Ritik Sihote, Tushar Sihote, Mattu Sihote, Rahul and Vipin Bali."Teams have been dispatched to Indore and other areas to nab the suspects," Solanki said. One of the accused reportedly admitted himself to a hospital on Friday morning with injuries sustained during the clash and is now under police surveillance.
