Ujjain: In a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday, a car collided with a truck at the Lal Gate crossing in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, resulting in injuries to at least 11 people, including four children, as reported by a police official.

According to the police, the accident took place around 4 am on Monday under the jurisdiction of Nanakheda police station. The truck driver suddenly applied brakes on the road, causing the car to collide with the truck.


Vikram Verma, the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Nankheda, stated, "As soon as I received information about the accident at Lal Gate crossing, I reached the site with the police vehicle. A total of 11 people, including the driver and four children were injured in the accident and have been admitted to a hospital. The driver of the truck suddenly applied brakes because of which the accident occurred."

The injured passengers, all residents of Delhi, had come to Ujjain to offer prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple. After seeking blessings at the temple, they proceeded to visit the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. The accident occurred while they were returning from Omkareshwar, at the Lal gate crossing in the district, as per the statement given by ASI Verma.
