IMPHAL: In separate operations, the police on Thursday seized 1.2 kg heroin from a vehicle in Bishnupur district's Moirang Khunou area, while a joint security team seized 484 grams of the drugs in Thoubal district on Wednesday.
A team of Bishnupur district police commandos, during its regular checking drive seized the drugs, packed in 101 soap cases, from a jeep. Driver N Lhungdim (30) and his wife, both from Chandel district, have been arrested, sources said.
CM N Biren Singh, who happened to be passing by, stopped his motorcade and lauded the commandos.
