‘Compressed air hose inserted into victim’s rectum’: Worker dies as colleague’s ‘prank’ goes wrong in Telangana
HYDERABAD: A man's prank turned fatal for his colleague working at a packaging company in Shadnagar. The accused's act of inserting a compressor air hose into the victim's rectum led to his death. The incident occurred on Sunday night but came to light on Thursday. Police have registered a case under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS against the accused, Sai Kumar. The victim, Pavan Kumar (22), along with his brother and cousin, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, worked as packaging labourers at the same company. On Sunday, he reported for duty at 3 pm. A few hours later, his supervisor informed Pavan's brother that he had suffered a serious injury and had been shifted to hospital. Police said that while Pavan was working, the accused allegedly activated an air compressor pipe and directed it at him as a prank, causing severe internal injuries. "The high-pressure air entered his body, causing a sudden rise in internal pressure. He collapsed in pain," police said. He was initially taken to a local hospital and later referred to Osmania Hospital, where he died during treatment on Monday. "Sai Kumar was well aware that using high-pressure air in such a manner could be fatal, yet he did this to Pavan as a prank," police said. Investigators said that the accused has been arrested.
