After taking her amount and transaction slip, she forgot to take the ATM debit card from the machine. She forgot to close all transactions in proper manner, and walked out of the ATM leaving the card in the ATM machine.
Immediately after getting out of the ATM, she realised that she had left the card in the machine and rushed back to the ATM centre. According to the complainant, she returned to the ATM in less than a minute’s time. But she found out that the card had gone into the safety box, which happens if the user forgets the card and no transactions are done for 30 seconds.
As the incident happened on Saturday evening and the bank working hours were over, Rani decided to go to bank on Monday morning to collect her ATM card from the bank authorities. Rani got her card back, but upon checking her account, she found that Rs 5,100 had been withdrawn from her account by way of four transactions. Rani suspects the complicity of persons within the bank as nobody else would be able to know about the card.
