VRAs call off strike after CS assurance

Hyderabad: Village Revenue Assistant (VRAs), who have been on the warpath over their demands for the past two months, have agreed to call off their strike following a meeting with chief secretary (CS) Somesh Kumar at BRKR Bhavan on Wednesday.The CS informed the VRA association members that the government would consider their demands. He asked them to join duty immediately after giving an assurance that all issues raised by them would be considered after lifting of the model code of conduct which is in force due to the Munugode bypoll. VRAs’ association made representation on various issues including pay scale, promotions and service conditions. Telangana Revenue Employees Services Association president Ravinder Reddy, general secretary Goutham Kumar and others were present at the meeting.
