Vivek, Srinivas fashion MCC win; Paras, Shakeer, Suresh, Praful, Sashank also shine

HYDERABAD: Vivek Singh hit a century and D Srinivas Yadav took six wickets to set up MCC’s 173-run win over Classic in the HCA’s A-1 & A-2 Division (one-day) League-cum-Knock-out Tournament, here on Friday.


Vivek struck 17 fours in his 131-ball 134 as MCC scored 286. J Seshi Kumar Yadav took six for 69 to restrict the MCC score. However, the Classic batsmen failed to rise to the occasion and were bowled out for 113 with Srinivas taking six for 39.

Paras Raj struck a century and VL Sashank grabbed seven wickets as Baalaji scored a 160-run win over Khammam District.

Batting first, Baalaji made a modest 224 with left-handed Paras getting an unbeaten 124 (118b; 18x4, 2x6). In reply, Khammam had no answer to the guiles of left-arm spinner Sashank and were bowled out for 64. Sashank finished with figures of 5-0-9-7.

Md Shakeer Ahmed smashed a quickfire century to power Postal to a nine-wicket win over Crown. After bowling out Crown for 172, Postal replied with 173 for one in just 16 overs with Ahmed hitting a 51-ball unbeaten 100 (13x4, 4x6).

M Suresh helped himself to a century as he set up SCRSA’s 127-run win over Charminar. Suresh scored 100 (102b; 6x4, 3x6) as SCRSA ran up 303 for six. Charminar were then bowled out for 176.

Praful’s century went in vain as WMCC lost to Rakesh XI by five wickets. Praful scored a 97-ball 100 (5x4, 4x6) in WMCC’s 204 for two. Rakesh XI replied with 207 for five.
