Hyderabad: Two people were killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling in rammed into a parked lorry on the Karimnagar-Peddapalli bypass road late on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Syed Abdul Rahman (19) and Syed Atiyab Hussain (21). MD Adnan, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The fourth occupant, MD Abrar, escaped with minor injuries after reportedly jumping out of the vehicle moments before the crash.
According to police officials, the incident occurred near the Bommakal flyover while the four were travelling along the bypass. A lorry was reportedly parked on the roadside when the car collided with it with significant force, leaving the vehicle completely mangled.
Locals who noticed the accident immediately alerted authorities and helped shift the injured to the hospital. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Karimnagar SP Gaush Alam inspected the spot and enquired about the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that speed and poor visibility may have led to the crash, though officials are examining all possible angles.
