Two-year-old crushed by iron gate in Miyapur, dies
Hyderabad: A two-year-old boy died after an iron gate fell on him while he was playing in the premises of a residential complex in Miyapur.According to sub-inspector J Mounica, the deceased child, Riyansh Sharma (2), was the son of Virendra Sharma (28), a native of Uttar Pradesh. Virendra married Gyani Sharma (24) eight years ago, and the couple had two children: a seven-year-old daughter and Riyansh. Virendra had migrated to Hyderabad five years ago in search of employment and had been working as a welder while residing in Miyapur. His wife and children would visit him periodically.On Monday, Gyani Sharma arrived in Miyapur with their children to stay with Virendra for about three weeks. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when Riyansh was playing near the iron gates that had been placed against a wall, reportedly to be fixed later at a construction site.While playing, the child pulled one of the iron gates, which suddenly collapsed and fell on him, causing severe injuries. Hearing the noise, the parents, who were inside the house at the time, rushed out and found their son trapped beneath the gate.
They immediately took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.Despite efforts by medical personnel, the child succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.The police were informed and arrived at the scene. The body was later taken to a govt hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further inquiry is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
