Three Maoists, including Telangana state committee member, lay down arms
Hyderabad: Three more Maoists, including state committee member Nune Narasimha Reddy alias Jampanna, surrendered to Telangana police on Sunday.Reddy, a native of Valluru village in Kakumanu mandal of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, previously served as a special zonal committee member (SZCM) in the Dandakaranya special zonal committee (DKSZC) of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), covering parts of Chhattisgarh and adjoining regions. He recently operated in Telangana alongside senior Maoist leader Devji, who had surrendered earlier.

Police stated that two battalion commanders, Company 1 commander Kallu and Company 2 commander Lakku of Chhattisgarh, also laid down their arms. Both were part of the CPI (Maoist) battalion structure and had accompanied Devji before surrendering.With the surrender of the Telangana state committee member and the two company commanders, police said the battalion unit had been neutralised.Reddy is among several Andhra Pradesh-origin Maoist cadres who were active in central India under the CPI (Maoist) structure before returning to Telangana.
