WARANGAL: Central Crime Station police arrested a burglar on Saturday and seized 134 grams of gold and 250 grams of silver ornaments from his possession.
East Zone DCP K R Nagaraju said the accused, M Sambaiah of Amangal village of Mahabubabad district, was caught near Wardhannapet Ambedkar Centre while trying to board a bus to Warangal where he planned to sell the ornaments.
During the interrogation he confessed to have stolen the ornaments. Sambaiah, a daily labour, migrated to Hanuman Nagar in ECIL a few years back. Police said he moved around looking for locked houses and broke in at night. He was arrested in 2003 and sent to jail for theft at Karimnagar, Khammam and Rangareddy. He continued to steal after being released from jail. Police identified the accused using CCTV footage.
