HYDERABAD: The Hindu celebrated its 125th anniversary at a ceremony attended by many senior leaders at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur.

HYDERABAD: The Hindu celebrated its 125th anniversary at a ceremony attended by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, senior Congress leader Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and chairman of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Dr K Anji Reddy among others at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur, on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, The Hindu editor-in-chief N Ram said that in Andhra Pradesh, the media enjoys an excellent working relationship with the political establishment.

The chief minister said sensationalism and biased reporting have eroded journalistic ethics to a great extent. “I hope positive thinking, a visionary approach, responsible journalism and objective reporting will replace biased and sensational reporting,� he added.
Rajasekhara Reddy said The Hindu was founded 125 years ago essentially to provide an expression to the Indian Freedom Movement. Since then, it continues to occupy a place among the top Indian national newspapers, he added.
