Anyone with harassment complaint can send it to us by WhatsApp, email or post, says Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce
Hyderabad: The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has asked victims of sexual harassment in the film industry to send their complaints to the film chamber. TFCC honorary secretary KL Damodar Prasad said the complaints can be sent through post, courier, email or via Whatsapp/text message to dedicated phone number. Complaints can also be dropped in a box at the film chamber from 6 am to 8 pm.In the issue of a sexual harassment charge levelled by a female choreographer against choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, the chamber has asked the Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association to ‘put in abeyance' (withhold from occupying) the post of president of the association by Jani Master. This is following an interim report by the committee of the Sexual Harassment Redressal Panel, which looks into cases of alleged sexual harassment. The committee was formed in 2018.The committee, which is inquiring into the allegations against Jani Master, consists of Damodar Prasad, honorary secretary and convenor, and anchor and actress Jhansi as chairperson. Internal members include Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Suchitra Chandrabose, Vivek Kuchibhotla, and Pragati Mahavadi. External members are Ramalakshmi Medapati, social worker and media expert, and Kavya Mandava, advocate and POSH expert.
Meanwhile, film chamber former president Tammareddy Bharadwaja, reacting to the allegations made by an actress against director Trivikram Srinivas, said if the actress were to approach the film chamber formally, her complaint would definitely looked into. However, the actress, in a post on the social media platform ‘X', did not specify the nature of her complaint against Trivikram Srinivas. She only said she had approached the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) and other leading personalities of the film industry with a complaint, but it was not accepted.
