HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old youth drowned in the Godavari river in Jayashankar Bhoopalpally district in Telangana on Sunday.
Akhil along with his family, had gone to offer prayers at Mukteshwar temple on Sunday.
After offering prayers, Akhile entered the river at Kaleshwaram Triveni Sanghamam to take a dip but did not come out of the water. His parents, Praveen and Rajani, informed the local authorities.
The police deployed expert swimmers and fishermen to locate Akhil. His body was recovered on Monday.
