Telangana: Woman found murdered on building terrace in Ghatkesar

HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old woman was found murdered on the terrace of a building comprising five shops at Ghatkesar. Police circulated the details of the victim to all neighbouring police stations and launched a man hunt to nab the offenders.
On Sunday evening, locals alerted Ghatkesar police about the foul smell emanating from the terrace of a building on Hyderabad-Warangal road at Annojiguda in Ghatkesar.Police reached the building and found the decomposed body of a woman lying on the terrace.
"There were five shops in the single storied building and the stairs to the terrace can be accessed by anyone. The decomposed semi naked body of the woman was covered with a sari and petticoat," Ghatkesar inspector N Chandra Babu said.
An empty water bottle was found on the terrace and police seized it to collect finger prints. To trace the identity particulars of the victim, police sent the photographs of the body the clothes to all the neighbouring police stations. "We suspect that unknown persons have killed the victim by strangling her," police said. Police are also analysing the CCTV camera footage of nearby locations to identify the accused. A murder case was registered under section 302 of the IPC.
