Telangana tourists rescued in Nepal

A group of tourists from Telangana stranded on their way to Mansarovar in the Himalayas following heavy rains were rescued on Sunday.

HYDERABAD: A group of tourists from Telangana stranded on their way to Mansarovar in the Himalayas following heavy rains were rescued on Sunday. Nepalese security forces evacuated eight woman pilgrims and brought them to Muktinath in Nepal.
Telangana officials in New Delhi said the tourists would be sent to Hyderabad in a day or two. "We are in touch with Nepalese officials.

The tourists are safe and they will be brought to Delhi soon and they will reach Hyderabad in a couple of days," said S Madhusudana Chary, Telangana special representative in New Delhi.
After visiting Muktinath, the pilgrims were proceeding to Mansarovar when they got stuck on the way due to torrential rains. Muktinath is 372 km from Nepal capital Kathmandu.
