at all its properties including hotels, resorts, boating, sound and light, eco-tourism spots etc.

According to a press release issued by the ban will include single-use plastic bags, disposable containers and utensils. Certain exemptions will be granted for packaging of food and other goods. “To increase the ban’s effectiveness in the hotels,

TSTDC Ltd

will be pushing an awareness campaign to make sure people are prepared once the new laws are enforced,” read the release.

While the TSTDC had banned single-use plastic bags under 50 microns in the past, it had little impact due to limited enforcement and lack of awareness among people.

The managing director of TSTDC

B Manohar

will be meeting with other officials from different regions to ensure that the implementation is uniform and effective. In addition to that, the TSTDC is also reaching out to unit level officials to pursue awareness initiative for the visitors of hotels.
