Telangana HC’s first virtual court postpones SSC exams till normalcy in state

HYDERABAD: The first ever online court held on Monday directed the State of Telangana and its SSC Board to postpone all the remaining SSC public examinations till the state returns to normalcy from the ongoing Carona crisis. It also directed them to inform the same to the students and parents immediately.

sat at the former’s residence to hear an urgent plea filed by M Balakrishna of Secunderabad who questioned the board’s decision to go ahead with the public exam schedule from March 19. The bench headed by Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan earlier heard the plea and noted the fact that 3 exams were conducted already by March 22. It then ordered the authorities to postpone all examinations that were scheduled to be held between March 23 and Mar 30. It also directed the authorities to review the situation on Mar 29 and take a call on conducting the remaining examinations scheduled between March 31 and April 6. They were asked to report to the court about their decision on March 30.

, appeared before the bench of Justice Rao through video conference facility from his residence and informed it that the stare and the board have decided to postpone the examinations. The bench directed him to postpone them till normalcy and asked him to immediately convey the message to the people.

It can be recalled Chief justice Chauhan earlier came down heavily on the authorities for not being able to grasp the serious threat posed by Carona virus and ordered immediate stalling of all exams and wanted the students to stay safe in their homes. It was only after a week or two, the authorities realised the seriousness with centre and state declaring lockdown.
