TDP fields late MLA's wife for Vuyyuru bypoll

vuyyuru: anne vijaya lakshmi, wife of late mla anne babu rao, filed her nomination on thursday as the telugu desam party candidate for the september 20 bye-election from the vuyyuru assembly constituency. accompanied by minister for agriculture vadde sobhanadreeswara rao, minister for fisheries n narasimha rao and a host of other leaders,vijaya lakshmi reached the mro office at 11 am and submitted four sets of nominations to the returning officer narasinga rao.vijaya lakshmi is not a novice to politics. she had earlier worked as sarpanch of yelamarru gram panchayat near gudivada and bagged the best sarpanch award. her candidature was announced by vadde sobhanadreeswara rao at a party workers' meet here late on wednesday evening. later, addressing a public meeting, vijaya lakshmi promised to keep up the good work done by her late husband babu rao and develop the constituency to the best of her ability if elected. vadde and other party leaders, recalled the services of anne babu rao during his two stints as an mla from vuyyuru. they hoped vijaya lakshmi would continue the services in the same spirit.
