Take action against Konda couple: Congress leaders

HYDERABAD: Congress MLAs, MLCs, and senior leaders from the combined Warangal district, who earlier complained against forest and endowments minister Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali, appeared before TPCC disciplinary action committee at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.

According to sources at the meeting, the leaders alleged that the 'high-handed behaviour' of Konda couple was damaging both their individual reputation and the party's image, particularly ahead of the crucial local body polls.

The committee, chaired by vice-chairman Ananthula Shyam Mohan, heard the version of Murali during session. He said the committee would convene again soon to examine the statements from both sides. "We will meet with minister Surekha to hear her side. We are confident of restoring unity within the Warangal district Congress," Shyam Mohan said.
