Hyderabad: Telangana Congress in charge and MP B Manickam Tagore has sent a legal notice to former Congress minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy seeking unconditional apology for his alleged remarks against him in a letter addressed to the Congress leadership. Marri Shashidhar Reddy recently quit the Congress to join the BJP.
In the legal notice, Tagore said that Shashidhar in a letter to Sonia Gandhi on November 22 made ‘highly objectionable and derogatory statements’ against him as well as All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary K C Venugopal.
The allegations were regarding appointment of A Revanth Reddy as TPCC President.
The notice demanded that Shashidhar Reddy withdraw his allegations and tender an unconditional apology in writing within a week of the legal notice. Tagore’s advocate said if this was not done, then appropriate legal action seeking damages would be initiated.
