HYDERABAD:

T-Wallet

- the virtual mobile-based wallet where people can store money for making mobile, online or offline payments - to be launched shortly by the government, will be a platform that will work with multiple platforms and different kinds of phones. In addition, T-Wallet will be accessible to everyone in the state as it will also be available in Telugu.

IT minister K T Rama Rao

announced on Saturday that the T-Wallet will also be accessible to those without a phone. What all such people need is their Aadhaar card number. "The goal is to provide a safe, secure payment gateway for the people that will also ensure privacy of their transactions," KTR said at a meeting of IT department officials and representatives of mobile and internet service providers here in the city on Saturday.

The coming week will see the release of T-Wallet logo by the chief minister. The government,

said, will ensure that any T-Wallet transactions will not attract any additional costs.

The new facility will be first rolled out to connect citizens with GHMC, water board and other civic services. .
