T resignations rise to 99

By 2 pm, five TRS MLAs – E Rajender, T Harish Rao, K Tarakarama Rao, K Eashwar and P Vinay Bhaskar – submitted their resignations to the Assembly secretary and they were followed by suspended party legislators K Sammayya, K Vidyasagar Rao and E Ravinder Reddy. Three TRS MLAs, G Aravind Reddy, N Odelu and C Ramesh Rao faxed their resignations.

By 2 pm, five TRS MLAs – E Rajender, T Harish Rao, K Tarakarama Rao, K Eashwar and P Vinay Bhaskar – submitted their resignations to the Assembly secretary and they were followed by suspended party legislators K Sammayya, K Vidyasagar Rao and E Ravinder Reddy. Three TRS MLAs, G Aravind Reddy, N Odelu and C Ramesh Rao faxed their resignations.
Around 3 pm four CPI MLAs – G Mahesh, B Chandravati V Yadagiri Rao and K Sambasiva Rao – submitted their resignation to the Assembly secretary.

They were followed by the two BJP MLAs – G Kishan Reddy and Y Lakshminarayana – around 5 pm. With Tuesday’s resignations, the total number of MLAs who quit assembly rose to 99. Among those who have not resigned are ministers Danam Nagender, Mukesh Goud and Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Deputy Speaker Bhatti Vikramarka, deputy CM Damodar Rajanarasimha, and legislators T Manemma and Akula Rajender. Explaining why she was not resigning, Manemma on Tuesday faxed a letter to the media stating that she has full faith in the assurance of Congress president Sonia Gandhi that the Telangana state would be formed.
Others who have stayed away from the resignation episode are MIM’s MP Asaduddin Owaisi, its seven MLAs, Lok Satta MLA Jayaprakash Narayan, CPM MLA J Ranga Reddy and Congress MPs Anjan Kumar Yadav and Sarve Satyanarayana. In the 294-member Assembly, 119 belong to Telangana, while one seat is vacant following the resignation of TDP MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy who has joined the TRS.
