Surprise inspection of city school buses

Hyderabad: The Women & Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) partnered with the traffic police and conducted a surprise check of various school buses in the city Cyberabad police said that SHE Teams along with traffic cops conducted mock drills at some international schools regarding safety.Officials also verified fitness certificate of the vehicles and whether the bus drivers were having an experience of above 5 years. They also checked whether there were any pending challans against school buses.tnn

Mumbai: Traffic Police issues restrictions for heavy vehicles, private buses during Ganeshotsav

Traffic police in Mumbai have announced restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles and private buses during the upcoming festive season. In South Mumbai, these vehicles will be restricted from entering and plying on roads on specific dates, while in Greater Mumbai, they will be restricted during certain time periods. However, essential service providing vehicles and school buses have been exempted from these restrictions. All private buses and heavy vehicles, including the exempted ones, must be parked at authorized parking lots. On-street parking will be prohibited.

Women held for thefts on buses

Two women, Rajeshwari Jadav and Sonal Gaikwad, have been arrested in Ahmedabad for stealing from commuters on BRTS and AMTS buses. The duo confessed to stealing cash from passengers' pockets. Jadav has a history of arrests in multiple cases across different areas of the city. In another incident, a loader at Delhi airport was arrested for stealing valuables from passengers' bags. The police are also investigating the involvement of other airline staff. In Karnataka, eight individuals were arrested in a stabbing case, while in Mohali, a man named Amandeep Singh was arrested for motorcycle theft.

Protests keep cops busy, traffic curbs inconvenience citizens, some schools shut

Multiple protests and sit-ins caused disruptions and extensive traffic restrictions in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Schools remained closed due to anticipated inconveniences for students and parents. Protests covered a range of local and national issues, including demands for stone-crushing workers, fulfillment of long-pending demands of various labor unions and organizations, support for farmers' families, reservations for different communities, and more. The protests led to the closure of key roads, affecting transportation and causing inconveniences for students and residents.
