HYDERABAD: Barely three days before Prime Minister
Narendra Modi's visit to Hyderabad, Warangal police on Wednesday arrested BJP's Telangana state unit president and Karimnagar MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Sanjay is accused of being the main conspirator behind the Class X board exam's Hindi question paper being leaked on WhatsApp groups on Tuesday. The question paper was floating online minutes after the exam had started.
Sanjay, along with three other accused - former journalist B Prashanth, lab assistant G Mahesh, and driver
Shiva Ganesh - were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days - till April 19 - by a magistrate in Hanumakonda.
The drama began Tuesday midnight when Sanjay was taken into preventive custody from the home of his in-laws in Karimnagar. He was meeting the family after the recent death of his mother-in-law. Sanjay was first brought to Bommalaramaram police station in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and finally produced before a Hanumakonda magistrate on Wednesday.
Police officials alleged that Sanjay conspired with other accused and leaked the question paper to damage the image of the state government and cause confusion among students.
