Hyderabad: Six persons were arrested in connection with a 2014 robbery which took place in Begum Bazar, wherein 2 kgs of gold was stolen from a Bengali ornament maker.

Task Force officials said that Sheik Imran Ali, Mohammed Waseem, Mohammed Mujahid, Mohammed Azam, Mohammed Shaukat, Mohammed Mujeebuddin were arrested while two more are absconding.

In August 2014, Amjad Ali lodged a compliant informing that while he was travelling in an auto near Sangam hotel, some unknown persons came and threw chilli in his eyes and fled away with his bag which had 2 kgs of gold.The prime accused Imran Ali, who happened to be the nephew of the complaint, hatched the robbery plan since he was in financial distress. Accordingly he roped in other accused promising them of share in the stolen property.

The case was transferred to Task Force police, who based a tip off picked up Imran Ali again and he divulged the conspiracy and based on his confession other accused were arrested.
