SHE teams arrest 36 for harassment

Hyderabad: Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 116 decoy operations that led to the arrest of 36 men for harassing women in public spaces between April 11 and 17. Police have booked 34 petty cases and the accused were counselled in the presence of their family members. The teams also received 18 separate complaints from women through social media, helplines and direct visits. Cyberabad's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit rescued a victim and arrested an alleged trafficker under Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA). The Family Counselling Centres of the Cyberabad commissionerate helped 41 couples resolve marital disputes. Awareness programmes on cyberbullying, stalking, child marriages and emergency helplines reached 1,846 students, workers and residents across the commissionerate. Police urged people to use dial 100 and 1930 to report offences promptly.
