Second LCA ready for test flight

HYDERABAD: The second Light Combat Aircraft is 'just ready for flight', Aeronautical Society of India president Kota Harinarayana has said. The LCA has more than 300 activities involved in it and only four parts were imported. In the future, these will also be made in India, he noted.

the lca has more than 300 activities involved in it and only four parts were imported. “in the future, these will also be made in india and hyderabad plays an important role with most of the industries situated in this city,� harinarayana said. india’s productivity needs to be improved, he said. “if productivity is not improved, then in spite of technology we will not succeed,� he said adding that it was not just manufacture of components, but manufacture of high precision components that was important. the growth rate achieved in the field of aviation and aerospace technologies in the recent past has been phenomenal and today india is acknowledged as a country with tremendous potential by leading countries in the world, minister of state for defence u v krishnam raju said. with the liberalisation of the economy, the government eased the restrictions and a foreign direct investment of up to 26 per cent has been cleared by the government in the aviation and defence sectors, he said.“the government is keen in development of private industrial participation in aviation and defence for better growth,� he said. the government would like indian industries to participate in systems and equipment development and production in collaboration with defence research and development organisation, space and other aviation agencies, krishnam raju said.
