Secunderabad: SCB, ranked fourth among 62 cantonment boards across India, is planning to add 25 SATs (Swachh Auto Tippers), two trucks and five dumpers to its garbage collection fleet. Currently, the SCB health & sanitation wing uses 74 SATs, 10 garbage trucks another 5 dumpers for lifting and transporting nearly 200 metric tons of garbage from 380 residential colonies on a daily basis.
“Garbage collection is continuing with the 74 SAT vehicles which were bought last year. As per the current demand, we have to buy another 25 SAT vehicles, two more garbage trucks, and another 5 dumper placers to reach our goal in Swachh ranking,” an official told TOI. Last year, SCB had scored 4,114 out of 7,500 marks in the Swacch Survekshan. TNN
