Revanth hands over cheques for Rs 1 cr to kin of power employees
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, along with deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka, on Monday handed over accident insurance cheques for Rs 1 crore each to the families of two electricity department employees who lost their lives on duty. The CM presented the cheques to the families of Orsu Suresh and Mukhtar Baig on the assembly premises.Stating that the initiative aims to boost employee morale and assure their families of govt support during times of crisis, the CM lauded Bhatti for taking the initiative and standing by the bereaved families during difficult times.Highlighting welfare measures, Revanth said the govt has enhanced coverage under the Rajiv Aarogyasri health scheme from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh is being extended to all families identified through the SEEEPC survey."The family insurance scheme was introduced to ensure that no family is left destitute in the event of the death of its breadwinner. The govt has also extended accident insurance coverage of over Rs 1 crore to workers in the electricity department as well as Singareni Collieries. Such measures reflect a humane approach towards employees, ensuring financial security and dignity for their families," Revanth said.Bhatti stated that no other state has implemented such a scheme for the welfare of govt employees. "The govt has introduced an accident insurance scheme of Rs 1.20 crore, unlike anywhere else in the country, to ensure that no govt employee's family is left helpless. This scheme will benefit over 51,000 employees in power utilities, 41,000 employees in Singareni, and about 7.57 lakh govt employees and pensioners' families across the state, providing them with financial security," he said.Bhatti also highlighted that the govt has introduced a major life insurance scheme in the budget, "Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme", which provides financial protection of Rs 5 lakh to each of 1.15 crore families in the state, irrespective of their economic status.
