Read the Constitution, BJP tells KTR
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP on Friday asked TRS working president KTR to stop reading comics and read the Constitution.
BJP spokesperson K Krishna Sagar Rao said KTR seems to be forgetting that Telangana is a state in India and not a country in itself. “KTR’s statements in the last two days about central funds are quite deceptive and politically motivated. Article 268 to 293 part 12 of the Constitution outlines the tax revenue sharing provisions and KTR should read it,” he said.
Rao faulted KTR’s logic of expecting all tax collected by state as its own revenue. “His argument is fundamentally flawed and bereft of any understanding of the Centre-state financial relations and tax sharing provisions laid down by the Constitution.” he added. TNN
