Pet dog bites 10-year-old girl, owner arrested

HYDERABAD: In a bizarre incident, a dog owner was arrested on Friday after his pet bit a 10-year-old girl at Vasanth Vihar Colony, Maula Ali, on Thursday.
Malkajgiri police said S Sai Kiran, a private employee, has a pet dog in his residence. Opposite his house, a day care centre is being run by D Bharathi . On Thursday, the dog bit 10-year-old Satya Adithi, daughter of Bharathi, on the road.Adithi suffered several injuries and was shifted to a hospital where she was treated and discharged.
"The incident happened outside the day care centre," Malkajgiri sub-inspector E Jahangir said.
The victim's father lodged a complaint against Sai Kiran, who was arrested under Section 298 (Negligent conduct with respect to animal) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). tnn
