Officials intensify tracking as tiger spotted near Arepally village in Siddipet district
Hyderabad: The Telangana forest department intensified monitoring after a tiger was reported moving in the surroundings of Arepally village in Siddipet district. Officials said precautionary measures are in place to ensure the safety of residents while preventing any harm to the animal.To track the tiger's movement, the forest department deployed thermal imaging drones and established 24-hour surveillance in the area. Officials said real-time inputs from the drones are helping ground teams respond quickly and adjust their strategy as the situation evolves.Alongside surveillance efforts, forest officials are conducting awareness programmes in nearby villages. Residents were advised to follow safety guidelines, avoid moving alone at night, and take precautions to safeguard livestock. Officials said public cooperation is crucial to managing the situation without panic.Forest patrolling teams were deployed across the affected areas to monitor movement and prevent human–wildlife conflict. In addition, a specialised rescue team from Pune was kept on standby to assist if required.According to officials, efforts are focused on allowing the tiger to move back naturally towards forested areas without stress or disturbance. The department stressed that no attempts are being made to capture the animal unless absolutely necessary.
